Crossbar fear

All primary school jumpers that landed on thecrossbar beneath their backs seem to develope a fear for the bar. They tend to stop being daring enough to really develop a good arch when crossing the bar and rather try to shy away from the bar a little. What can I do to prevent this?

Practice Surface

We live in the country with no synthetic approach-surface. We therefore practice on grass but have to compete on Tartan. It makes it particularly difficult to have a constant and fast approach. How do one overcome that?

Beijing High Jump Nike Sample Prototype Spikes

Hi all,

Would rather a track and field athlete got hold of these instead of a some Nike collector. Got hold of these spikes which were made specially for elite US athletes for the Beijing Olympics.

http://tinyurl.com/mksjyj

Cheers guys, hope seasons went/going well.

Vertical and Horizontal Rotation

I have difficulty hitting the bar with my shoulders exactly horizontal. I tend to overrotate a little. How do I control the rotation. I also struggle to get my ancles out of the way of the bar. I "kick" my legs with my legs nearly straight in a long sweeping action. Looking at videos of worldclass jumpers I can see that they bend their knees the moment their hips cross the bar pulling their legs "up" just to kick them straight just before tha ancles hit the bar. How do I learn that action?
