Uniform rule change-wish list.

I wish the rule about jewelry would be removed.

The rule about wearing sunglasses in Field events removed

The rule about wearing an undergament that has two lables (Front and Back) removed.

I understand the reason for these rules but it does not have any bearing on the performance of the event or the safety of the event.

I think the uniform should be the uniform and if someone needs something under it to keep warm, then it should be one solid color and be allowed. When we get socks with 20 colors on it and then a solid color underarmor shirt with two lables, the kid is DQ. This is a problem.

That is just my wish

John Rainwater, Head Track Coach - Gordon Central HS

Training for coaches of track AND FIELD

More and specific training for coaches befor they are allowed to coach high or middle school teams.
To have passed strict testing for the various fundamentals of the sports and philosophy and fundamentals of coaching. We are getting too much poor coaching for young athletes in track and field and cross countrry. if the body is warm and has a pulse they are allowed to coach in too many school systems. Fault: administration of the schools.

shorter trak and field meets

We must shorten our meets from the six hour drag outs to less than three hours even maybe two hours.
Not good for athletes
Not good for officials
Not good for fans
Not good for performances of athletes
It is driving fans, officials and athletes away from tracck and field.

Can We Change the Order of Events?

I would really like the National Federation to consider a change in the order of events, by swapping the 300-meter hurdles and the 100/110-meter hurdles. The way things are now, a good 100 meter sprinter is penalized if he is also a good sprint hurdler. Conversely, the 300-meter hurdler is penalized because it follows the 400. By trading spots in the order of events, good athletes are able to flourish in the "matched events" (i.e., the 300 hurdles and the 400 dash, as well as the 100 meters and the short hurdles).

Comments? Problems I'm not addressing?
