Hi,  I coach middle school track.  I had a long jump pit put in last year.  The sand was donated from someone who owned a construction company.  What I found out is, you get what you pay for.  Every time it rained the sand got so hard and compacted that it was like jumping onto concrete.  I would have to take a shovel and a rake to break it up enough so that the kids did not break their ankles.  I had someone with a bobcat come by this summer and emptied all of the sand.  I am now looking for the correct type of sand to refill it with.  Can anyone give me ideas or names and numbers of places that I might call.  I am in the NW suburbs of Chicago, IL.

Thanks
