I wish the rule about jewelry would be removed.

The rule about wearing sunglasses in Field events removed

The rule about wearing an undergament that has two lables (Front and Back) removed.

I understand the reason for these rules but it does not have any bearing on the performance of the event or the safety of the event.

I think the uniform should be the uniform and if someone needs something under it to keep warm, then it should be one solid color and be allowed. When we get socks with 20 colors on it and then a solid color underarmor shirt with two lables, the kid is DQ.  This is a problem.

That is just my wish

i agree... i mean in kentucky, when its really cold at night in february and the 2 mile run is always last to go, there arent really that many ppl that do the event anyways. they should let them wear sweatshirts that have their school on it... its not going to hurt anything... and about the jewelry,

I believe wearing jewelry in the throws can be dangerous. In CO the kids can only wear religious items taped down. We have no sunglasses rule and I am not sure about the dual-label thing. However, I like that for relays the kids look identical. It takes almost no planning and shouldn't affect the outcome. 10 weeks until strength camp!

Well, the thing about jewelry is acceptable because usually things like rings or bracelets can slip off of someone through their sweat, and necklaces can be torn from one's hand accidentally getting caught in the loop. Sunglasses the same because running and its momentum can cause it to fall, interfering with other runners behind or sometimes in front. Plus, who can really see clearly with shades and sweat in the eyes?

The undergarments rule though, is just plain ridiculous. I mean, who's to know what brand of underwear you got? It's called undergarments for a reason. Plus, when you compete in a team based sport, uniforms are essential not only to represent your school but give an equal footing against other teams or opponents. Not everyone will remember to bring their sweaters or sweatpants to each competition.

i can understand about jewlery, i mean sometimes earings or necklaces fall off, now imagine what would happen if a relay was going and someone stepped on a necklace... not good. in texas, people are aloud to wear what ever socks they want, and we can wear stuff under out uniforms to keep warm as long as they match and go with school colors. we have no rule about sunglasses, but i think 2 mile runners should be able to use their ipod on their run
